Daybreak Homestead is a small farm in Triplett, North Carolina. We use permaculture land management practices to build healthy soil, raise happy animals, and provide high quality farm products and experiences to our community.
Hey there, we’re Alex and Jess. Nice to meet you!
We got really carried away with our garden in 2022, and Daybreak Homestead was born. Our flower and vegetable gardens grew to encompass nearly all of the flat space we have available on our VERY steep little piece of land. From there, we’ve delved into the world of raising and butchering animals, selling USDA certified, forest-raised, heritage breed pork and lamb, florals, and herbs.
When we aren’t wearing our farming hats, Alex teaches climate and geography at Appalachian State University. He is a GIS professional and climate scientist. Jess handles communications for a regional nonprofit, and is a certified Master Gardener.
We’re passionate about keeping farmland in production and continuing the legacy of the historic homestead we live on. We hope you’ll join us for an event, check out our products, and follow along our journey!
